FAQ

WHO DO YOU WORK WITH?

I work with adult individuals 18+, couples, groups, and organizations. Therapy services are available to those who reside in the state of California.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?

Your first individual therapy session will consist of a 50-90 minute intake, where your current concerns, history, and background will be thoroughly discussed. Based on the assessment, I will be able to determine if I am the right fit for you, and if not, will provide you with multiple referrals. Sometimes at the end of the first session I will be able to discuss a potential treatment plan, outlining the sorts of interventions that will likely be used in your therapy. Other times, an additional assessment session is needed to create a more complete treatment plan.

Subsequent sessions will be 50-minutes in length unless otherwise agreed upon.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

Dr. Deniz's fees are set based on her credentials, training specializations, and community standards for doctoral level clinicians. In addition to session time, rates cover time spent in between appointments on various tasks, such as phone calls, research for other resources you may need, reviewing your progress, preparing needed paperwork, and most importantly, considering how to best help you.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I am not affiliated with any particular insurance panel. This is to ensure the greatest level of privacy, flexibility and control of your treatment and mental health records. I am happy to provide you with a statement, called a superbill documenting the services provided and that you have paid for them, which may then be submitted to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel or make changes to a scheduled appointment, please notify me at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time. If the appointment is cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, you will be responsible for payment of the full session fee.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
